Just curious if anyone else out there has a supercharged 924S?

It seems that everyone is surprised that i had that installed instead of a turbo or keeping it NA.

what were your reasons for choosing a supercharger?

Here is one of the first things I have done with my car. I have purchased Huntley Racing's Super Charger. ($5000.00) It was a long and involved process, but I believe it was well worth it. they replaced all the vacuum lines, installed a mass air intake system, replaced the fuel injectors. But most important of all to me is this system allows me to keep my existing A/C. With the A/C off it has a much better pick up than stock. When the A/C is on it does take a little bit of the power away but it still has plenty to go around.

New
Horsepower: 210 Hp @ 5000
Torque: 210 lb. @ 3000

sparky.. i chose that because i wanted to increase the power significantly at a reasonable amount of cost. it cost $5000 in parts from Huntley Racing. I tried to go back to their website.. but it is down right now.. i dont know why that is.. if anyone is interested there number is 619-448-3800 unlessed they moved... if anyone gets a hold of them let me know.. there are a few other things i wanted to get from them..

samivaan - i dont have any gauges to determine the compression ratio.. and i forgot to ask the guys that put it on. later on i will get those numbers when i have more time.. right now there is not that much time with work.

Rumor has it that the reason their website is down is because for all intents and purposes they are out of business. Probably why Derrick's Zebra 951 race car has been up on Ebay several times over the past few weeks. Anybody else know anything about that?

Mike, if they didn't do anything internally to the engine then you are running stock compression ratio. I am pretty sure you're not going to be able to hook a gauge up to you car and determine that. You actually have to pull the head and measure cylinder volume, combustion chamber volume of the head, etc. and plug those numbers into a formula to figure compression ratio.

Likely you're running stock compression ratio of 9.7:1 with light boost pressure. I am pretty sure that is what Huntley's plan was for at least their stage one system.

I don't really know what happened to them. I know there have been a lot of nasty posts about Huntley on Rennlist in the past, mostly regarding cheesy products and bad customer service, but that could just be bad feeling from a few people getting a lot of public air time. Kind of like how John Anderson has decided to not post on Rennlist any longer because there were so many posts about what a wanker he supposedly is (I don't know or care whether he is or not). Again, it is only a rumor going around and I can't say I have read anything from Derrick to confirm it.

I already recommended to you that you will want to consider some suspension and brake upgrades soon. I suggest if nothing has been done internally to your stock 79K mile motor that you (1) take it easy on the motor and (2) consider having an experienced shop inspect and freshen it up a bit. Things like bearing, seals and head gasket, you know what I mean? Adding boost is only going to accelerate the process of wearing those items out.

that is not a intercooler.. its the new manifold .. no hood scoop yet
