I cannot get the old needle bearing out of the crankshaft, it's in their pretty good! has anyone run across this before?

Yew, couple of times.

Pilot bearing puller + slide hammer is the way to go. Autozone has them for free with their "borrow a tool" thing. You just lay down a deposit while you borrow it.

I am guessing that you are just trying to remove the bearing?
might be easier to use a bolt and remove the housing from the crank first.
cannot remember the size or threadpitch of bolt needed to remove the housing though. _________________ 3 928s, |
