IFC has a rear bumper cover they make for a 78, whats the difference between the 78+ and the 76-77 bodies?

I think all 76 models were only produced in Europe and therefore have the shorter Eurpean bumpers. That is the only difference in the bodys that I am aware of.....but there are many more members that would know better.

The rear wheel arch was shaped slightly different up through '78, and changed with the '79 model. The earlier arch was smaller, or closer to the wheel, and was "opened up" by 23mm behind the wheel in the '79 and later models. (If you have the factory manuals, see pg 53.10 for an illustration)
