Been driving again for 2 days & Ive noticed the
front camshaft seal is leaking, I think its the seal.
Ill get to it on sunday. Other than it doesnt run
as good unless I put in plus gasoline it stutters
on the the low grade stuff. I thought it was
maybe the timing. Switched gas and it went away.

Joe,

Also in this weather there could be build up of water and ice in certain areas like the distributor that effect ignition.

Just a thought Keep them pictures rollin I enjoy checking on the progress!

The timings perfect, It drives cool I like it.
starts right up i the mornin with out
given it gas. idles a little high for about 45 seconds
its hardly noticable though probly at 1050 then itll go
down to the nines. I wantto see what mike over
here in the NW is gonna do he has some ideas about a
blue dash with yellow heat vents. Super bowl sunday Ill
have most of the day to fiddle with it. Probly do the seal
cause the filler cap gasket replacement didnt do the trick.

Joe,
buy the most expensive seal.
I replaced my cam last year with a new cheaper seal and it leaked right off the bat.I ordered the better quality one and the problems gone.

Its in already in. The one I got wasnt the regular black rubber
with a sable around the inside. Oh no this had a dark brown
piece orund the inside its of real good quality. After I got it
back together, cam pully #1 bearing cap,oil filler tube,
valve cover, belt tensioner its was off like 2 teeth enough
to make it stumble I did it on its marks and its smooth as silk.
I made sure and cleaned up real good. Ill know in a day
I guess if it worked probly a little longer. Where I cleaned
should be all oily if it wasnt the seal. Though it was the seal
I just no it.

Heres after about a week with new seal. No leaking from
the seal at all, seems if anything the cap leaks
I havent wiped away oil at all from around the seal
it stays nice and clean. I had the block cleaned up I really
dont think the crankcase vent is clogged.. How can I check
if its clogged.
