Hello!!
I have a Porsche 924 1980mod. And as known only 4 lug rims will fit this car. What do i do if I really want some 5 lug rims?? Change all the wheel hubs?? Or buy a conversion kit??(where can I buy this??)
Also I need to take out my fuel tank. Anyone who want to share any experiences?? The Haynes manual says that i have to change the anti chafe strips, the four anti chafe blocks, the holding strap and the rubber blocks who are located between the tank and the underside of the luggage compartment. Also i will have to change the nuts witch are holding the anchor strap. Where can I buy these parts?? Preferreably in europe.
Thanks for answers!!!
Regards ¨

Theres a search button up at the top under the header,
its a well versed subject here. I recently did it and its
great I went with 16 " rims choice. Though what you need to get
is a option wich was available to the car in the later years those
are hard to find as there still on all the cars. Find a 944 they have
all the parts also. You need to get the parts you need to convert. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

the 5 bolt suspension was an option on this car option code M471, it is a direct swap, you can take in from any 924 (excluding the 924S 87,8 , you can also take it from early 944 1983 - 1985.5, the later 944 years had different spring plates, and alloy rear trailing arms, _________________ 3 928s, |

With respect to the fuel tank, the nuts are very standard nyloc nuts, you can probably buy new ones at the hardware store! As for the straps, I believe you should be able to replace the foam that secures the tank with some new foam rubber, such as sold for insulation of doors and windows - again, from the hardware store! _________________ Vaughan Scott

Look for pickup camper tape. It's 1.25" wide, approx. 0.25" thick self-adhesive closed cell neoprene rubber and comes in a 30' roll. I found a roll of it at K-mart if I'm remembering correctly, 10+ years ago.

As stated alot of people do the 5 bolt swap by taking parts off an early 944. Another plus to this swap is adding rear disk brakes. Using parts off a 944 it should run $200-$400 depending on how much of the work you do yourself. _________________ 1981 924 NA
Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but you
still can't help but smile when you see one tumble down the stairs. |
