|
|
Finally got that head off with a little help from my friends. The #1 intake value is bent and the #3 exhaust value is also bent and that one is really bad. Question would you replace all 8 values or just the bad one? Any advice would be helpful. |

I'd get the correct fasteners for when it's time to put it back together. Mine has OE fasteners and there's spacers that go on with the 3 turbo-to-exhaust manifold bolts. These are probably key to making the job a little less impossible. _________________ "..it's made in Germany. You know the Germans always make good stuff."

|
|
I have a box of (4) brand new genuine Porsche 931 exhaust valves if you need them.
The price would be $110 for the whole box, including shipping by Priority Mail with Insurance.
The valves normally sell for between $65-$100 each, through the Porsche Part aftermarket or a Porsche Dealer. |

I know this is an old subject, but I never saw you post the answer of "how to get the lower intake manifold nut off".
I have my motor out of the car, and I need to get the intake manifold off of the head so I can spin the clutch housing around the motor so that I can remove the bolts from the flywheel so that I can put the motor on a motor stand.....WHEW...
I have not succeded in getting an open ended wrench, OR a socket of over the nut either. I thought of grinding a wrench down, but with the turbocharger mounted on the motor, AND the intake manifold in the way. There really is not room to even TURN the wrench if I even got it on there.
I have a feeling I should be getting the turbocharger off FIRST!
How did you do it? |

You shouldn't have to remove the exhaust manifold either to remove the bell housing. What's the hang up?
You did remove the clutch fork shaft didn't you? |
