When I put a v8 in a 924 I am clearly goin 2 have cooling problems. So what do I do 4 a radiator I no that they make a radiator 4 the 944 v8 swap so do I use that radiator or is there a radiator from another car that will do the job

Why not just use a stock 951 radiator? It's nearly bolt in and should be sufficient for your needs.

The 951 radiator is also reasonable. I picked up mine from E-bay for $85. It should be big enough for most swaps unless you go with really highly modified big cubic inches. Usually the problem is insufficient air flow but that can be cured with a Ford Taurus 2 speed fan.

Many guys on the v8 board have used these.

The factory fans do not pull enough air for higher HP motors. The Taurus fan (late model 2 speed) is rated at 4100CFM. That's more than the highest flowing aftermarket fan and probably about 1500 CFM more than the stock 951 fans together. Many overheating v8 powered 944's have been cured with this fan. Including some with specially made oversize radiators. (RH--made by Ron Davis and generic Ron Davis both 2 row aluminum) The overheating occurs during idle or low speed driving which points to lack of air flow.

I am beginning ming with late fans on a Turbo (951) radiator without a condenser in front. (I have 2 small ones that I will mount in front of each tire) If I have any problems I will use the Taurus fan.

You could also improve the airflow through the radiator with proper ducting in front of and behind the radiator.

Give the air a path that it has to flow through and you'll maximize the effectiveness of the radiator.

The fan is from a 90-95 3.8L taaurus and also fits some other models. The one you want looks like this

It is rated at 4500 CFM and is two speed.

I ordered the " Griffin 1-26201-X "

24x16x3 http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=GRI-1-26201-X&N=700+4294810996+115&autoview=sku

Works great! Especially at $195!

I also run the Taurus Fan in conjunction with an aluminum rad. I don't run a thermostat either, just a restrictor plate. My car runs very cool. Actually too cool if I am running on the highway with the fan on (manual switch). It will run as low as 140 cruising .

Bob, it's been a while...don't know if you remember meeting at Tweeks Fun Fest in 2005 when you dyno'd your beast...

...anyway, would love an update on your car...what have you been up to?
