Hi to all form Panama. I´m new to your forum. I´m planing on painting my 1982 porsche 924 whcih originally was Surinam red metalic, and afterwards a very bad paint job in white was applyed to her.

I´m planing on either go back to oiginal or to Gambia red, and whant to use the original paint, not just the colour.

On my research, I found out that Porsches hasbeen painted with either Sikkens or Dupont. The workshop manual did not clarify which paint was the original (only colours and codes) and makes reference to some dupont products. Which was the original?

What's with all these odd-balls painting red cars white. The same was done to mine and I'm trying to get it back to it's original color, or at least as close as I can get. The place that's painting mine is using Sikkens, but whether or not that's the original I have no idea.

I´m also planing on ussing Sikkens, as it was the shop reomendation. Glassurit is known here as the shipest paint available, however, they recallit being the first poliurethane available down here.
Calvin, looling at the picture, I beleave our cars hwere exactly the same colour, dark red almost brick called Surinam Red Metalic, however, I doubt I will paint it the same color again. I do like the colour very much, however, feel the day I will like to sell the car (IF IT EVER COMES) it will be difficult to sell, that´s why I´m dismanteling it completelly and painting it in Guards Red.
