What's the ballpark value of an 81 931 with 151,000 km (approx 90-95,000 miles) in very good condition both mechanically and aesthetically? The only problems with the car is that the A/C needs a recharge (and conversion to R134a), one of the front sunroof clips is broken off and the fresh air blower doesn't work. The car comes with a new blower to install. The timing belt was done 1.5 years ago and the car passed a PPI this week. Oh yeah, it's got one of those awful PORSCHE reflectors between the taillights... that's got to go!
Thoughts?

Well, here in Oz the Redbook (national used car price guide) lists a good condition car as worth about AU$5,000. Our dollar is roughly equivalent to yours (i.e. worth nothin' ) so I'd image you'd be looking at about the same sort of price. But that said, I've seen several advertised over the past couple of months and the asking price is about twice that... around AU$10,000.
Mine's got about 160,000km on it and it's in very good condition, and I know I'd want close to AU$10,000 for it...
By the way, all things going smoothly, I'll be visiting my brother in Vancouver the week after next. Any chance of meeting up? _________________ '80 924 Turbo |

I'd be guessing around $4-5kUSD in good shape etc. Don't really think mileage hurts these cars at this point, really. But if it's in good shape and all, and since it's a later car/Series II, I'd expect it to fetch a few bucks. Not sure what the Blue Book values are doing, but I've noticed that the valuation guide in Excellence seems to note an increase in value for all our old unwanted non-P-cars! _________________ Vaughan Scott

Then I guess that I can get the car for $5300 Cdn is a pretty good deal then?
Khal: Vancouver is only 40 or so kilometers away but unfortunately, there's the Juan de Fuca Strait between us which results in a 2 hour (and $100 round trip) ferry ride. Still, if you can get over to Victoria, feel free to drop by! _________________ 1975 911S |

The ferry is only $50 CDN if you drive a car. I belive it runs $10-12 if you are just a passenger. I just did that trip three weeks ago. I needed a nanimo bar |

True, but it's $50 each way for one car, one driver and one passenger. _________________ 1975 911S |
