The other day I was cruising along as usual coming onto one of my motorways, which was very busy with inferior cars. First off, I couldn't Believe that the volume of traffic DIDN'T slow down for me AT ALL as I came off the slip road! I had to squeeze into a barely big enough gap between two cars in order to get onto my motorway (the driver of the car behind me did realize his mistake though and honked an apology to me with a long blast of his horn.)!
Unbelievably, I had to do the same again before I could get to the Porsche lane (why do underlings use this lane? Surely everyone knows it is for Porsche drivers only?).
Anyway, once I was in the Porsche lane and posing along at 176 km/h enjoying the adulation that the inferior car drivers were giving me, I noticed an inferior car ahead of me which was not only in the Porsche lane of my motorway, but was driving at a ridiculous 120 km/h. Naturally, I got to within a foot or so of his rear bumper and flashed my headlights to remind him he shouldn't be in the Porsche lane of my motorway and to get out of my way.
Of course, once he realized it was a Porsche behind him, he did just that, but I could hardly believe it when he pulled straight back out behind me! He also tried to keep up with me and when he realized I would out-run him,
he put on some blue lights in his front grill and urged me to get onto the hard shoulder so that he could congratulate me on my excellent car.
Needless to say, I was eager to oblige and when we had stopped, the man gave me a piece of paper confirming what I already knew - that my car goes fast!
Apparently he wants everyone to know what a superior car I have, so I had to go to court and show them. The man also said if I carried on like this they would take my drivers license away! Can you imagine no need for a drivers license?
See, now THAT's the sort of respect you get when you buy and drive a Porsche!

| The last time I was pulled over the cop said and I quote "So, the rules of the road don't apply to you." And in about 30 seconds I was back on my way. It's nice when people just want to chat. |

You don't have a blue 1982 924 do you? I was cruising on my way to work this morning on the M4 and was in the middle lane watching a blue 924 on the outside heading west hugging peoples bumpers until they moved out of the way. I couldn't catch up to say hi ! _________________ 1982 Porsche nine two four with Carrera GT conversion - people think i'm slow cos it's an X plate!!

I hope you really don't drive like that. Entertaining story nonetheless.

My first ticket :
After dropping off a freind from an evening of watching movies I deicede to amble down the Highway. It is 1 AM and not a car in site. I merge onto the highway off the ramp and gingerly accelearate up to 100km/h. This pace seems comfertable and I continue around the bend, glancing in my rearveiw mirror I see a car come hauling up to me about 7 feet from my bumper. How odd, why would someone pull up so close to me on a wide open highway? at 1 a.m.? and slow to follow me over the speed limit? This smells like trouble, maybe its a drunk. As the road straightened from a curve, I way my options, I could pull over, let him pass but then if he is drunk he could swerve and hit me, what if it is some punk kid in his mustang just trying to piss of the porsche? what the hell, It is just me and him I may as well just accelerate off a bit and I get up to about 120 and hold it for a minute. He followed, what is doing! why won't he just pass me or slow down? I get nervouse, a cold sweat forms on my brow. I start to lightly pull away agian and dashing upto about 80mpn I see flashes of red and blue bounce of my dashboard as I relize this whole time I was being followed by a police officer. I break and pull onto the medium. All in all he was a nice guy, he wrote me up for failure to display a "new driver" sign as required as having my license for two years now. No speed tickets though luckly. |
