I have an '87 Porsche 924S Automatic. HOw many miles should the engine last if oil is changed every 3000 miles (more like 2800) and the front engine service is done every 3 yrs/ 30000 miles? My engine currently has about 106000 on the clock. I have a hidden project in mind for the Winter of 2004/2005 which involves a 951 motor/tranny/suspension/brakes, but I don't want to take out a perfectly good motor and waste it. Anyone done an automatic to manual transfer? I know a few Bimmer guys that have done it on their M3's. Please don't tell me to buy a manual transmission 924S or a 951, this is to be a fun project and the ultra sleeper. Thanks for any help.
