|
|
I was reading on the Improved Touring chat board that the SCCA has come up with a PCA: Proposed Competition Adjustment. I'm not completely sure of the background and intent of this but it is my understanding that if we were to formally submit a proposal to SCCA they MAY consider a competition adjustment to move the 2.0 924 from SCCA ITA to ITB class. Has anyone else been following this? What are our chances of something like this becoming a reality? I figure since they made adjustments to allow us to run in F Prod, maybe they might reconsider reclassifying us to ITB. Any thoughts? I would not mind "working the system" and doing the leg work if someone helps to point me in the right direction.

Absolutely - I'm working with Geo, who's on the ITAC, to try to prepare a proposal to reclass it. He's also got interest to move the 944 8V to ITA. Both seem to make sense. I'm working it, already have a huge amount of data to present to support it, I'm just looking for his guidance (he's gonna get back to me within the week) on how best to present. _________________ Vaughan Scott

I found a note of "club racing news" in GrassrootsMotorsports,
"Effective Jan. 1, 2004, the 1993 Volkswagen Golf III has been moved from the SCCA's Improved Touring A class to Improved Touring B."
Well, re-classification is possible thing. _________________ R.I.P.:a 924 ITA race car |

Yes, but in particular with that Golf reclassification, it seems even more likely that moving the 924 would be possible! _________________ Vaughan Scott

Vaughan, if you need to I and my father could send in "grassroots" letter of support for the porposed rules change. We could also encourage other wannabe 924 racers to submit letters too.

Actually, when we're ready for a CONCERTED (well-planned) effort, by all means we should get more than one name on the letter.
I'll pass it on to the guy I'm working with, make sure we get your names on there too... _________________ Vaughan Scott
