That's actually pretty nice, bet it hauls teh ass. Too bad about the rear end, why doesn't someone just build a G31 with G50 930 internals and use that for one of these V8 conversions? At least that way you'd get to keep a nice IRS setup... _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |

I'll bet it is, otherwise he wouldn't waste money on registering it.

Have you looked at the LPE or DRM prices for an engine like that lately? We're talking easily $30K for a crate motor... This a complete driving car... _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |

In a word, yeah. EASILY. Aftermarket small block chevy Donovan aluminum blocks are not cheap! Nor ANY of the other parts in this engine! How much do you think just ONE of those turbos cost? To build one of these engines from scratch, 30-50K++. Don't forget 750HP ain't cheap, and I think that #'s pretty conservative. If you were to pull the pin on that gernade and TURN UP the boost...OMFG!
If Don Ness really did build this chassis, I LOVE to have this car! If this car sells, it won't be on stupid-bay that's for sure. Watch for this auction to either end early, or not meet the reserve.
I'll shutup now before the "pure" Porsche-lovers come out of the woodwork. _________________ 1978 924 n/a |

ok first question why would I be bitchin, the only reason I put down the other 1 was it had been on the board 3 times, this 1 looks to be of much better build quality, it has a 1 piece front end which helps with top speed, this one doesn't seem to be bad at all _________________ 3 928s, |

Yeah, the other one has a sorta shade tree approach to it, and it has been up many times... I've disliked it every time it has been, since it still has an ugly set of headlights, and a solid rear axle in the back.
This one has a very well built engine, from teh parts list, everything on this car has been professionally done. I wouldn't doubt the guy has tha tmuch money into it, and $18K is a bargain. _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |

I agree, the second is to be admired for it's workmanship, if nothing else. I think it's always interesting to see how others view their cars. And I admire people who don't let things like marquees and badges stand in their way of trying new things. As long as it's on THEIR cars.
