I have a 1987 924S and the fan wont stop running somtimes. so lastnight it did not stop and today my battery is dead. What can i do to fix this? if anything?

If you car is not running hot when you park it. Take the wire off of it untill you fix it

What's happening is your temperature sensor is stuck in the closed position, sending current to the fan motor all the time. Replace the sensor. Until then put in a toggle switch, so you can make it run manually.

The temp sensor is a good place to start, but if the fans stay on after the ignition is turned off and the temp guage is below the half way mark. Then you also need to check the resistor.

The thermo fan switch going bad will cause the fan to run all the time. It would run at high speed when the ignition is on and at low speed when the ignition is off.

If the fan runs at high speed all the time, whether the ignition is on or off, then the cooling fan relay is bad.

thanks for the help everyone i think i figured it out but does anyone know were i can find a wiring diagram for the cooling system or tell me where the relay for the thermo switch is

The thermo switch is on the driver's side of the radiator (on US cars), just below the top hose.

Make sure your wiring is not shorted at the switch, sometimes the insulation gets worn allowing the wires to touch.
