How to get more displacement....
Anyone familar with possibilities of Stroking the 2.0 Motor... I am not as familar with it as I am with the 944 2.5.
I know their used to be stroker kits for the motor, I think the 2300 or something like 2.4. I dont know who still offers a stroker crank or kit. I need help locating one. If anyone still does this kind of work
Just thinking their may still be a reasonable way to stroke the motor... OSkara? _________________ My 931s:

I think Paeco makes a stroker kit.

| Correct, Paeco will sell you a 2.2 kit for $1699 plus shipping. Crank, pistons and rings and special machine work on pistons, |

Yeah, there seems to be alot of flexabilityat Paeco.
They will also do any size stroke, overbore and compression ratio. |

Of course stroking has merit. However, unless you just like saying that your 924 is a 2.2, you're not going to gain a whole lot for your $1700.
With no offense intended, you, like the rest of us, seem like a guy with a limited amount of funds. I suppose if you were trying to build the ultimate, money-is-no-object 924 engine, you would consider stroking it. Judging by your pictures, though, it seems like you've got a long way to go before you should consider stroking. Get one of those turbos running and driving, then worry about everything else! Nothing is worse than a car you never get to drive and enjoy, trust me. _________________ Jon Furst |

I have yet to see a supercharge kit for under 3000, so I dont think you could get more for the same amount of money.
As for displacement, I always felt like their is no substitue for cubic inches, a larger displacement seems to me wouold hve more low end torque.
As for upgrading something like the turbo... I understand their are lots of ways to get more boost, spool faster etc.. I have done a lot with cusotm installations on v8 cars, heck I must have 3-4 turbos laying around in the garage. T4s mostly, got a mitsubishi to, anyway, I could have the turbo rebuilt and modified.... etc... but that all takes money.
Yea I am like everyone else I have limited funds to work with, but dont mind a project, I have my 84 944 to drive around while I work on the 931s.
I remember reading about the Okasara 2.4 motors based on the Okasara 2300 kit for the 924 motor, was a bit of a monster... so thats what got me thinking about the stroking idea. I am still thinking about it.
Chances are I will end up rebuilding the motor atleast one of them anyway, so if I have it apart...
Well I look forward to reading more advice and drawing on everyones experience with this or any other modifications to the engine and turbo.
Thanks _________________ My 931s:

heres one for you Im gonna have to run actane boost [mixed gas]
after a certian point if raising the comp what do you think [11-1]
or lower [10-1]. plus theres a safety thing if
bumping it to I think 11-1 is a little to high.
A monster na motor can be a good thing
Im not having a turbo [yet that is]. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

Thats some high compression
I ordered a catalog, from the guys listed above, seems I can go all the way up to 2.4.
Their is no substitue for cubic inches, boost comes close, but put the two together and oh yea!!!!
Anyway the deciding factor will be cost and maintian strength in the block, dont want to go to wild.
It will post some stuff once I get the catalog, maybe scan some stuff in.
BTW made it to TENN so far so good, visiting resting, back on road in morn... should make Indiana tomorrow evening.
