From what i heard, you would need to part and poilish the head for it to make a noticeable difference.

Go to my site and click on 924 performance tricks. Then read bolt on one and two. It will show you what can and can not be done to make more hp and what order... basically.

I can't speak with a whole lot of experience, but for the short time I was driving my car, the exhaust seemed to be at least a part of the impovement. The car was stock when I got it. Have added a custom intake, webers, P&Ped head, and a Dynomax Super Turbo exhaust with Monza tips (to cool the sound a little).

On acceleration, you can literally FEEL the exhaust flowing out the back like there is nothing holding it back. Very responsive. Of course, it probably is the comb. of improved throttle response from the webers, too.

If you P&P your head, I would say there is a tremendous "seat of the pants" improvement with a performance exhaust. Don't know about dyno.

I put a new exhaust on my 924S without P&Ping the head. SCREAMS! I've got an aftermarket 4 into 1 header (i don't know which kind) and a 3 inch exhaust all the way back, and a magnaflow muffler. it's incredible. it got REALLY loud, and under full accel, it's scootin more now than ever. I dunno about the 924 n/a. good luck
