| Quote: | | The first vehicle to bear the Porsche name created a sensation when it debuted at the Paris Exposition in 1900. Called the Lohner-Porsche, it was a battery-powered two-seater that used electric motors in the front wheel hubs for the tractive force. The hub motors were designed by Ferdinand Porsche, just 25 years old at the time. As his employer, Mr. Lohner, boasted to the press: "He is very young, but he is a man with a big career before him. You will hear of him again." |
I STILL say Porsche, THE MAN!! As in "Professor Ferdinand"
He out-dated this 1900 Lohner-Porsche by 25 more years! I'm assuming that HE "crossed the road" FIRST!!
Without his genius, NEITHER would have been created!
He did CREATE Volkswagon and Porsche, so yeah its stands to reason that the two would use similar designs and like parts, DUH!
So you see, all of you that talk SHIT about one, then really you talk shit about BOTH, in my eyes!

I'm not attacking you Lizard, but I had very good reasons for this poll, and take them quite seriously!
| Quote: | | anyone who truly loves Porsche's automobiles already knows. Anyone who is ignorant and owns a Porsche just becuase it's a lucrative name doesn't know sh!t about Porsche history and probably doesn't want to know becuase it would take too long and use too many long words. |
I'm SO sure you already knew this Munkpuppy!
Hope I didn't take too long or use too many long words anyone!

That's cool Paul!
Let's not forget the Doctor's son Ferry either, who also had quite the hand in Porsche development right from the very first prototype in 1948.
The Porsche Prototype 356/1
This is the first Porsche ever produced. Everything was hand built in early 1948 by Doctor and Ferry Porsche. It has since been restored, and can be seen at the museum as well as on "tour" across the world.

Posche crossed the road first. Following his Mom and Dad. When he was three or four years old, on foot! Volkswagon hadn't been born yet. _________________ The Porsche is now my son's, my car is cooler, slower but cooler. |

Exactly what road are we talking about, and where.Im sure there is road somewhere that neither have crossed. And is this a paved road or dirt road. Single lane, Two lane, 4 lane, or 8 lane. Gravel,Dirt,Asphalt, or concrete?
Honestly without the right information on this road how can anyone be right. _________________ Polish your apc banner and shut up |

Isn't the answer Hitler?? only kidding, he did see mr porsche, who as he was remotely connected with engineering and was german, HAD to be titled DR Porsche, who penned him a flakwagon with a spin off as the beetle. so am not kidding, i'm pretty sure it was Hitler. Only when the beetle arrived they had to build roads to drive them on, the Autobahn, germany's greatest contribution to western civilisation. well, that and applecorn schnapps. So really, DR Porsche and the VW beetle were there BEFORE the road!!!! HOW CONFUSING IS THAT???!!??? _________________ I KNEW white wall tyres were invented by Americans .....just not at Boeing.... to be fitted on the 737..... |
