Um, that equals 3,390 lbs? You have a fatty!

Thats why I thought it was odd. I think that might be gross weight passengers, lugage, gas...

Yup, that's gross weight, or the maximum allowable weight for that particular "axle"

Lizard I thought you lived in Chilliwack. This topic reminds me that I have to finish taking out the sound deadening material in the rear seat floor and rear hatch areas.

Just the actual body is, the hood is not. The quarter panels and the front and rear bumpers are fiberglass on mine. Don't think the doors are either. i just noticed it when my dad nailed it with a screw driver by mistake and there wasn't metal underneath.

Inside the hood by the wiper motor there should be a plaque with the vehical weight. Mine is 2395 lbs. Oddly it reads 1450 front and 1940 rear, not exactly a 50/50 ballance.

The front and rear numbers are GAWR numbers, not weights. Those are the maximum axle loads including vehicle weight and accessory/passenger/cargo weight. Typically, combined front and rear GAWR exceeds GVWR so you can't just go by GAWR, you need to remain under GVWR without going over either GAWR.

Perhaps someone was in the early stage of lightening the car. Or just wanted a change. Other than 78porsche924 and myself who else has a fiberglass body?

Nah, the hood is metal. I think the doors are too. The quarter panels, bumpers and valences are fiberglass. At least i am pretty sure they are or they were filled in with fiberglass.

The guy failed to mention a lot of stuff when the car was sold. One such thing is the fact that the transmissionw as ghetto rigged. Also the fact that he had a complete moron work on the car. Not to mention how it was raced, he said it wasn't but i know it was. suspension was upgraded, holes in the floor that i am guessing was for a harness. The fact that the exhaust on the car is illegal. The tank was rusty as anything(he said it just had some junk that he cleaned out). I actually found a stick in the gas tank.

It may not be fiberglass at all. It may be sheet moulded compound. Similar to fiberglass but if you repair it like fiberglass you are in trouble.
