Anyone have a full set of synchro rings for a '79 931 with a 16/Z tranny? I'm looking to buy, not sell. _________________ '79 EUR 931 (Modified)

I concur with the Lizard - by my references, a '79 or '80 931 would sport a G31 series snailshell.
For my '79 931 I found the 1st gear syncro at Partwerks of Chicago. About a month ago they were selling for $99, but I see now they've gone up to $129 or $139. The 2 & 3 gear rings are the same part number and can be found at several of the "standard" online parts houses (thepartsbin, performancemotorcars, eurowebparts, etc) in the $40 range. Chances are that the 4 & 5 gear syncro rings won't need replacement.
If you find a source for the "dogteeth" portion of 1st or 2nd gear, there are at least two of us here on the Board who are interested in buying them. _________________ '79 Eurospec 931 |

Good price @ $26+change, but won't help. That'll be for a non-turbo transmission... You'll need to search the '80 model parts, as the '79 turbo wasn't "fully" released in USA till then. Somewhere here on the Board are the production stats, and I think that only something like 7-800 units made it to these shores. I have yet to find a parts house that recognizes a turbo model for 1979. _________________ '79 Eurospec 931 |
