|
|
Hi everyone!
I have a -81 931 with worn synchros in the transmission . On the good side I may have what I think is an original 924 Carrera GT intercooler (mounted above the engine) installed on it. It is part number 931.something.something.etc....manufactured by Längerer & Reich
Now...I am thinking of selling it to finance spare parts for the transmission or buying another transmission. Does anyone have any idea of what it could be worth?!!??
Thanks!

it seems like for the current bid price that this intercooler is going for one could fabricate an similar after market intercooler setup. these GT intercoolers are apparently worth their weight in gold. _________________ '82 931

| That is very true. The mazda rx-7 core is perfect for a GT clone. John H has made a few. I bought the core to do it and then decide to just go for the front mount. Does anyone want the core to make one? |

the Series IV RX-7 Turbo intercooler is the best to start with. I think I posted a link in the Links Forum to an article at autospeed testing various used Jap cores. _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)

| Yes that is the core I have, the RX-7 top mount. I have cut off all of the ferrings and the core looks great. I just decided I can't do the hood scoop thing. I bought it for $30 so that is what I am asking for it. It has been cleaned and lightly polished as well. |

I'm quite interested in intercooling my turbo in the future.. what modifications would be required to fit the RX-7 intercooler to my block. I do realize that I need an 81 intake manifold, I will work on that when the time comes. Does anyone have any info on this, or know where to get the mods dome? _________________ '80 931 FOR SALE

geez and yah didnt ask me,
to add the IC that they are speaking of, you first have to cut a hole in the hood, and add a CGT scoop, then you get teh RX7 top mounted IC, and fab the charge tube up _________________ 3 928s, |

I already knew that just by looking at pics of the IC. I was hoping for something more specific :p _________________ '80 931 FOR SALE

Does the water cooling aspect of the intercooler set up make any measurable performance improvements? I'm set up for a Supra intercooler myself but am still testing the stock setup for the interim.
