| Wow! It came back with $8,594 {Canadian}. {That's about $6,200 U.S.} It is worth more than I had guessed! Now I'm getting greedy, I want to take it to another appraiser and see if I can bring a higher number. I am so happy. Hint: Get chummy with you appraisal guys before taking in your car it may not have helped but I did grease the wheels! I feel like a millionaire! |

| No, don't say stuff like that! I had it appraised because it is kind of for sale {long story}. And I just wanted to know the value. Seriously bud don't say that kind of stuff. |

I am going to run into this myself. Prior to the restoration work, my car was valued at zero for property tax purposes and only a few hundred for insurance purposes. Because of this, I dropped collision coverage on the car.
However, once the restoration work is completed, I may have the car appraised for insurance purposes to in order to restore the collision coverage and protect the investment I made in the car.
The insurance appraisal should give a better idea of the actual value of the car. Of course, I'm not selling it but in high density areas like here in Va Beach, a car in the condition of mine would already command a higher price than what you typically see on eBay and elsewhere.
(I have already been offered $2,500 more for the 924S than what I paid for it) _________________ -Stu

The guy who pumped my gas the other day offered $5,000 for my car. So maybe you could get $6,200 or 6K. If I were selling my car, I guess I could live with 5K....I only spent I think $1,500 to buy it and maybe another $1,500 in it.
I think 924 owners are in the clear of depreciation, as alot of our cars turn 25 and officially become antique/classic/whatever, the value starts to just climb. Right? |

Mine? Yes. A 1977.5 with a GT body. Plus wheels, tires, nice paint, very nice interior, fine working order with 116,000 kms. |

Well, more power to you It's about time our 924's start to appreciate in value. It's tough when you spend a couple G's to fix your car up and have literally doubled its cost. Right Joe? Good thing we're in it for the fun of driving a great little car!!! _________________ 78 924 - The eternal project car |
