Me and my friend were screwing around with his jetta and a leaf Blower. We came up with a way to connect the leaf blower into the intake. We had to put a larger return spring on the throttle body. We got a tube so it hooks right up to the CIS and the car runs. We havent taken it out to see if there is any HP gains. After all we dont know how to richen up the fuel mixter yet. And the only other problem is that we dont have a blow off valve. We also had to make all the intake connections tight. But it was fun. HMMMM If I can make a remote throttle in the car for the Leave blower I can controle how much Boost I want.

While traveling through Conn. my wife and I stopped to have a bite to eat. Upon our return we noticed that the leaf blower we had in the car was stolen. Anyone with information regarding this leafblower please respond to me directly. We just had it adjusted as a vacuum only cycle. We did this in order to remove debris from the warehouse.
Any leads would be appreciated. |

Just would like to know if your leaf blower warranty covers a 78 924NA. It sucked all the fuel out of my engine and then caught fire on a busy highway engulfing a great stretch of pavement in flames. I am writing this in a cave in the Northumberland hills.
Please reply soon because I'm cold and hungry.

| I just have dwak strapped down to my hood and get him to blow air out both ends into my engine intake. |

| is there such a thing as an electic supercharger? the electic motor could use ignition timing or something to adjust its speed.... it seems to me like it would work really good, there shouldn't be any lag, and it wouldn't rob power from the crank like a supercharger..... |

Im sure some where there is one. But it would still rob power. The altinator would have to work harder to keep up with the power drain so thats where you would loose power. I dont know if it would be as much as a real supercharger.

I have seen two "legitimate" electronic superchargers, they both quote something like 1 psi (seriously, why would you claim a whole 1 psi) and claim an increase of 5-10 HP. Not worth the trouble if you ask me. Also, they do rob crank power indirectly, your alternator is harder to turn the more amps you draw from it.

I'm not certain you can call these things "superchargers". I looked at the specs on the E-ram and they explained it this way:
"The eRAM is an electrically powered forced air system that uses a 700 watt axial flow fan to slightly pressurize the intake air while it rids the inlet and filter box of most all restriction. It is designed to operate only at full throttle, since this is when you want the most air pressure available to your engine. By slightly pressurizing the air available to your engine intake system, the air becomes more dense, and is matched with more fuel producing the increased HP to the wheels."
So, in my mind, there is a vast difference between pressurizing the air box and bolting on a supercharger. I suppose these E-rams could help airflow but you still have to get past that notoriously restricted head. And you gotta admit...it looks better than the leaf blower!

Having said that, and after reading the pages from the guy that bought one and found it to be a pile of crap, I STILL think it looks better than the leaf blower. And probably as effective, IMHO. It seems to me that it would be a terrible restriction when it's NOT running, which is most of the time.
But ya' know, Barnum didn't get rich by accident. "This way to the Great Egress!" |

I always thought it feasible to attach the air conditioner to the intake. Cool air around the 65-75 degree area.
Makes sense to me. The leaf blower is too bulky and heavy. |
