Hey,
I just repainted my car this last fall and i've noticed some paint chips behind the rear wheels and under the doorsill area. Is there anything i can do to stop the paint chips, other than getting mud flaps... lol

it depends what kind of chipping it is if it is from rocks and debris then mudflaps if its from a cheap paint job like earl scheib then its time to sand feather in the edges and repaint and paint is really easy. _________________ wonder what this button does.......oh! |

| The chipping is from stones coming up and hitting the bottom of the sills and behind the rear wheels. My friends helped me paint it, we put a lil extra hardener in the paint; so, it shouldn't be the paint. Mud flaps on a Porsche is a sin... |

The plastic overlay is a good idea if you can find the correct product. I don't think that clear "Contac Paper" is going to suffice. It has to stand up to the abuse from water and road grime, plus UV attack over time. My 951 had it as standard equipment behind the front wheelwells and on the front face of the rear wheelwell. Don't know if the NA 944 had these sheets applied or not. _________________ '79 Eurospec 931 |
