some of you arent' going to like this, but i'm gonna be the young, unthreatened, idealistic, liberal college student here.

i don't want to start the whole - are we even threatened / north korea? / blah blah arguement. but i don't feel threatened and i do not feel this war will actually do anything other than stimulate the economy in time for the 2004 republican platform to be established. BUT since we're going to war anyway, i've gone ahead to find the good in the situation.

though we will be helping the iraqi's establish a new governmental system when saddam is out, we will NOT be handing over control of their own economy for somewhere around 5 years after that! yes, all their oil reserves will be ours. booyah! bush's people say it is to ensure that their money stays out of the hands of terrorists organizations. i really don't care. i just Love all that sweet delicious black gold. mmm-mmm. way to keep gas prices down.

man, i bet i just pissed a lot of conservatives off. sorry, guys. i'm young and dumb.

hey ljd931, keep in mind while the war is being faught gas is going to skyrocket, also you are talking about people dying so your gas to go down, but in the end you are talking about a few people ruling everthing making you think you really need to go to war getting you to say yes so they can do what they wanted to do in the end, I believe what they do is called mind control, and reverse phsycoligy.

so in the end I feel it is a load of bull, but if they start conscription I am gone I wont fight for anyone but myself, and anyone that tries to get me will pay

Bad news hhmm depends on how you stand on it I guess ..I agree though its gonna be kind long not short says the pres. though minimum loss of our forces is always #1.. boy do I remember desert storm and the 97th general hospital in germany..what a time to be a food service sergeant.

I'm stayin' out of this except to say that the human shields all went home a few weeks ago. I read they wanted to be stationed at hospitals, orphanages, etc and saddam wanted them at his military sites. They refused. Sigh...guess you just can't get GOOD human shields anymore.

it is out of my hands and i will pray for peace. regardless i think we need to stand together on this as a country. if our president elect has followed the proper protocal ( our laws ) and has the support of congress and the house then we as a nation should back those decisions. we did elect them to represent us. if the president and adminstration is acting out of protocal then we as a nation should not support and refuse any unlawful descisions made by such an administration.

Bush is not president Elect..........that is what the whole hanging chad thing was about. He was appointed by the supreme court. Then later, when the recounts happened, it was found that Gore was more than 3000 votes ahead of Bush just in Florida, but they were past the deadline. In any other country there would have been mass riots at that situation.

Bush has a way of unconsciously brain washing everybody.......everybody thinks he was Elected by a majority vote........and everybody now says "new-kew-ler"......makes us sound like a bunch of retards. I've been sitting here wondering why we are worrying about newkewler weapons, when we should only be concerned about nuclear weapons

i think we all want this to be over with as soon as possible. i support our troops and wish them all a safe return, but that doesn't mean i have to agree with our administration for sending them there. as for the "we elected them", well that's a whole other debate
