well I ordered a hydraulic T.O. bearing, should be here in a week... I cut the fork clutch part of the bellhousing off, and it fits in the hump fine now.. next step is get the drive line figured out.. I am going to have the input shaft from a chevy tranny welded onto it.. So I guess I need to go to the junk yard and find a blown up tranny, unless someone happens to have one they could sell me(just the input shaft)?
from my measurements the engine should be in the right place if I just bolt the torque tube up to the chevy bellhousing (with an adapter plate).. I need to recheck the measurements, but if its too far back I can add a spacer, if its too far forward I will have to have the torque tube shortened...

I used the brake booster ....but I paid the [rice to use it.(ALOT OF WORK)..but I wanted power brakes. If you look at some of the pics on this site of projest 327 you will see some with the engine siting in paited yellow....also take note of the hole where the brake booster would attach. I had to move the booster outboard and upwards to clear the vavle cover..then i actually has to notch the strut tower to make room for where the brake line came out.....that was the easy part. rehanging the brake and clutch pedal was the biggest job. Then I had to remake the brake peadel in order for it to hang low enough to be in the stock position. I know it all sounds like alot of work.....well...becasue it is. But I think the end results will be worth it. Renegade is way overated from what i have seen.....and even worse to have work done by. Here is a link to THE BEAST...the old Porschev forun...the porschev forum was shut down due to copyright useage of the wrod "porsche"
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/THE_BEAST_V8_PORSCHE ..you will have to join the Yahoo group to read all the postings tho

but read about the horor stories of thier renegade install......

On my 951 with a 5.0 I used the Renegade clutch ($155), cut my torque tube and welded an adapter on. It worked out very well. I could not fit the power booster. The brakes still work well but they don't have the effortless feel that they use to have. At some point I will probably try to install some sort of power assist.
