Does it physicaly fit the existing mounting points and work ok though ? For those of us with the steering wheel on the right swapping in a complete 944 master and servo might be an option as they are much easier to find in the UK

Physically install/bolt up, pretty much... but you're gonna have to pay attention and possibly re-route some brake lines, since the 944 is a TT (aka "H") split brake system vs the X split on the 924...
Oh, and brake light switch can vary too... 924 used a pressure switch in the master, at least early on, whereas I think the 944 used a switch on the pedal... we had to switch that over too when we put the actual 944 brake system on our '79 racecar... _________________ Vaughan Scott

Splif It has been 10-12 years now. I changed it on a race care as I could not find a MC rebuild kit. I just remember having to make an aluminum spacer plate the get the rod lengths to work. I think I used the 924 firewall spacer, then the home made spacer to the booster. I don't remember if the bolt pattern worked. The brake lines also have to be redone as it changes from the 924 diagonal split to 944 front-rear. I used the cupro-nickel stuff as easy to bent but not real pretty as I didn't have a device to straighten the tubing or a proper bender. Porsches used the bubble flare on the tubing and it takes the proper flaring tools a a couple of practice tries to get it right. _________________ Mike

This might be an 82 thing, but my lines were single flares. We tried bubble flaring to bench test the mc and it wouldn't seal properly, swapped to single flares and we got a seal _________________ Just trying my best to figure this out without total failure
