Took a few minutes away from all the demanding racecars and spent a few minutes on my Turbo - installing a nice set of Cup2s I got over on the Pelican boards...
Next up, finish cleaning the interior, dealing with some floorboard rust, then installing fresh used carpet and a new factory dash. Then install the 968 rear wing, rear swaybar, and wrapping the rest of the nose... _________________ Vaughan Scott

Was wondering how 7” cup2s fit on the slim body 924. Not bad actually. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

Yeah, they fit REAL nice. Could throw a little spacer on there and really get flush, but not sure I want to. As it is, they're pretty good just as a bolt-on.
EDIT: I should add, the car IS lowered. 20mm Moton front lowering springs, and eccentrics dropped all the way in the back.

I also have CUP2 7J ET55 all four corners.
Also lowered, but I had to use upper adjustable strut mounts to compensate the move outside of the A-arm, which are parallel to the floor now.
Do you also have different distance from the edge of the rear fenders to the tire? For me it’s like 1/2” side to side. _________________ ---

Oh, I guess I didn't mention: those are 9's in the rear.
205 front tire, 245 in the rear. Was going to do 7's all around, but these came my way, so figured I'd throw them on as-is, see how I liked 'em.
Yeah, maybe a half inch horizontally/laterally from the tire sidewall in the rear to the outside of the fender - but pretty much the same measurement each side. _________________ Vaughan Scott

My 81 931 has 9s in the rear and 8x17 ET70 993.362.126.01 cup wheels in front with a 1/4" spacer. Tire size is 225/45R17 and the ride height is stock.
They don't rub, even in hard cornering. It's not a fair comparison, though, since camber is near zero. With a reasonable amount of camber the 8s probably wouldn'd fit.
I really have to find away to post pictures.

Yeah, fair point, this is still stock alignment settings. Though with only a 205 up front, it'd probably take a bit more camber than a 225 before rubbing the springs.
OTOH, we run 225's up front on the racecar with 3 degrees of camber! Just needs 2.5" race springs at that point.
Re: pics - post 'em on Rennlist or Pelican, then share over here. That's what I did. _________________ Vaughan Scott

With struts up front with smaller diameter springs i find it pretty roomy with 8x16 with 245 R-comp tyres on all four corners, theres definitely room for more, especially if the rear lips would be rolled in. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

Yeah, I still have to roll the rear fenders, though I did the fronts some time ago. _________________ Vaughan Scott

Though its fun to cram in lots of rubber, its not very helpful for a road car. The car will be slower and feel less nimble and fun. Just a heads up for people reading _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

Entirely right. Wasn't my first choice - but fell into my lap, so figured I'd give it a try. _________________ Vaughan Scott
