I quite dislike the digital boost gauge I have..
Numbers go wayy too fast to comprehend. _________________ 80 Turbo - Slightly Modified |

I've really only run one wideband setup, a FAST unit designed for temporary use for tuning. That said, I'd think for tuning, a dial might be more useful. The reason being that you'll see big transients easily with an analog gauge swinging where a digital display would be very hard to get any meaningful information from while you're driving. Sort of like checking a potentiometer with an analog ohmmeter versus digital: it's easy to find bad spots because you'll see the needle stutter, where with just a digital reading you have to process the numbers you're reading, and you might miss it if you move too quickly.
With that said, I did just buy an Innovate LC2 with digital gauge. I picked that one because it was the cheapest controller combo. I think the analog setup was $50 more I guess you could switch gauges down the road. One big reason I wanted the controller vs. standalone gauge setup is it has two outputs. So you don't need a second sensor, and what's more, you can program whatever you want for the lambda output. I'm going to try setting a leaner lambda for fuel economy, maybe just as an experiment; we'll see. Another advantage with a WB controller is the data-logging capability. I also bought an SSI-4, which gives you up to four potential inputs. I plan to set it up with RPM, MAP, fuel pressure, and maybe duty cycle. I'll be my first foray into date-logging; hopefully it proves to be a good tool. _________________ 1980 931 diamond in the rough |

This is the AFR controller/gauge I use for about 10 years or so:
Bought it here used and the sensor hold up well till this spring. After sensor change works like a charm again.
Easy to read and even has a green backlight (backlight color is switchable) very close to stock 931 gauges _________________ WBR, Shurick

Green backlight? That’s awesome!
You still running that car hard all these years?
Yours is a top example of a relatively stock 931 engine holding high power reliably.. _________________ 80 Turbo - Slightly Modified |

Yes, it's still that engine. Rebuilt in 2002, not really being used till 2007 and since then being abused extensively by me. Still running strong and still moves my soul even faster than my body. Love it. _________________ WBR, Shurick
