I found that my fuel accumulator is faulty. When the bottom set screw is removed, gas runs out. I don't think that is supposed to happen if I understand the way the accumulator works.
Since new ones are very expensive I am looking at used ones. I have noticed some ads for the 77 to 79 Porsche 924. Is there something different about the 77-79 versus the 80-81+?
thanks--Ted |

What do they cost nowdays? Was manageable when I bought mine, wouldn't risk buying a used one since many old ones are crap. Mine started giving up even without anything leaking out the small hole, a new one got the hot start back to normal.
The early cars used a single or double 20cc version, the later used a single 40cc which is the desired solution. It might be possible to use some other accumulator from some other car that are cheaper, but that will probably need custom hoses etc. _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

There are some new ones (Bosch) on ebay for $250.
I realize that a used one may develop a leak. Looking at the way it works, if the diaphragm is in tact it should work. I noticed on mine that the gas did not flow out the set screw unless I probed up into the cavity. I think surface tension was holding in. Thanks for your comments |
