After you run the fuel pump it will keep fuel pressure for quite a while (residual pressure) and will sputter if you try to start it on only what residual pressure is left..

Just because you have some pressure in your fuel lines doesn’t mean that you have anywhere near what pressure the fuel pump runs at..

Power from the battery DIRECT to terminal #15 on the coil.

I tried your suggestion, Vaughan. I ran a wire directly from the batter to 15 then jumped across 30 and 50. Sadly, same result. Argh! I'm eager to get this thing running So close yet so far away.

Fasteddie, I have a fuel pressure gauge tied in, and when I crank it maxes out the gauge. So assume this would be sufficient pressure. Am I right about this?

I went out to try to do some more diagnostics and discovered that my fuel pressure is gone again. Jumped across the fuel pump relay and the pump kicked on. I don't know why it keeps coming and going, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. One day I have it and the next day I don't. Then it reappears again. Why??? Eliza's been helping a lot over email, but other ideas would be more than welcome. Thanks for all the guidance so far.
