BassGT homage to one of the original 924 enthusiast here and elsewhere. I just don't want the history to get lost. Anyone who has more can post of course. I believe CarreraRSR has his exhaust whole or in part...Downpipe for sure. I'll have to dig up direct thread links and post those here as well

Correct, I have the full race exhaust on my turbo, front and rear sections. I sold the silenced rear section to Mark. He also bought both the original orange shell as well as the one being fully stripped, welded and cage installed by Prepfab. This link will be closed to non members, but some may want access

https://porsche924.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=19420

The Prepfab shell became this car......you will recognise some panels. Some panels were sold before Mark got them I believe

I'll try and find out if Mark still has the shell and what's been done to it

FYI some links to a few events entered with times. http://resultsman.co.uk/?Q=2&Name=bassington&DB=Resultsman

Unfortunately I haven't run Loton or Gurston to compare times, that should have happened this year, but...... However, Steve did a time of 52.05 in his GT3 at Prescott. http://resultsman.co.uk/LiveTiming/EventViewer.php?DB=Resultsman&CompID=15954&EventID=115 My PB at Prescott so far is 52.17 http://resultsman.co.uk/LiveTiming/EventViewer.php?DB=Resultsman&CompID=164030&EventID=1376 Not a comparison to his 924, but a comparison to the man in a tenuous way.

While i have seen the car in person, i dont remember too much about it as it was early in the morning and i only seen and heard the car run for a few minutes before i was on my way.
The car was alien tech to me back then and i didnt understand much anyway.
I remember at one point it had two sets of injectors, a turbo mounted up front like some Audis had back in the day.
I remember the doors being carbon fiber and the engine dry sumped.

I liked the car, but by the time it came in my attention i was already hooked into the GT/S theme. So others on this website inspired me...Steve was one of the people that helped me.

I met Steve in 2007. Back then one could not have an ebay account unless in a country that ebay was active in.
I was looking for a 931 engine for the car that would later become the GTS wannabe.
Steve helped me by buying a 931 off ebay for me...without me paying him a penny.

In 11th of June 2007 i arrived at Steve's garage with cash in hand to pick up my 931 and the title.
Steve did some checks, changed the oil and fueled it up for me.
He picked me and my girlfriend up from the train station and drove us to the garage where his orange 924 was.

We chatted for a bit, signed the bill of sale, he showed me his race car and i was on my way in my new 931...which Steve bought for me off ebay...and i was to drive back to Romania.

I remember i had NO GPS, no idea how the 931 works in particular...never driven a RHD car or in a RHD country.
Battery died when i got to the ferry, got it exchanged near Paris.
The car held up very well to the trip even though it was sitting for quite a few years before Steve changed the oil in it and gave it to me.

Looking back, it was a crazy thing to do...with so many things that could have gone wrong...including i had no insurance on the car as it was simply impossible to get...or at least i didnt figure out a way to insure it.
Steve was and surely still is a kind and more than fair person, a true gentleman.

While this story has little to do with his car, it has something to do with Steve and me.

PS: i initially took the engine from that minerva blue 931 and put it into my red 924, but then bought another project engine for the 931 and sold/traded it as a complete car project to Paul (Woolie) in UK.
He got the car back into one piece and running but he is now selling it since he has too many cars.
After my big crash with the red 924, i sold the engine (that was in the 931 that Steve bought for me) to a guy in France..he is replacing his dead and incomplete 931 engine with the one i sold him.

Here is a short video i made in 2007 while driving back home in my 931.
Thank you Steve.

Another shot of the Orange GT and the later Boss GTP build. Not too shabby foreground too
