If you have all your sound deadening and carpet removed from your hatch area can you hear your tranny at all while driving around? How normal is it to hear a little gear noise?

You need a louder exhaust, then.

You said your exhaust is loud dude, you lied
I could always hear the 944S2 box whine in the red 924, never in the 931 (snailshell)
I can hear the 924 NA box whine as well, not as loud as the 944 one but still, its audible with a fairly loud exhaust.
