How do you tell in which model year the 2.0 engine was produced? Is there a reference of the model year somewhere on the block? In PET it looks like there is an additional character (7 = 77, 8 = 78 etc.) but I can only find engine numbers like the example below.
XK003562
Or is it sequential independent of the model year? _________________ ‘77 924 Martini

Directly from the Tech Specs booklet:
| Quote: | Serial no. continuous irrespective of model year, when
code letters identical. With new code letters/engine type,
serial no. starts again at 000001. |
