Thanks, everyone!

macBdog, they're car magnets from 944 fest this year. I thought they looked really good on the 924 body so I left them on. I haven't decided whether I'll take them off at the end of this year or just leave them on until next years fest.

Had this 3D scanned, I will use it to create a proper model and then i'll try to 3D print these.

Yes, awesome stuff edredas. Life the rear quarter decal you got too, where is that from?

Meanwhile for my car - fot the firewall hole-free and another reinforcing tube welded in. Happy with how the welds are running, pretty good for a glue gun.

nice work mate any pictures of the cage

That is a better once than I have

We grabbed a model of the grill off the net around 5 months ago and it wasn't a scan. It printed nice and most people won't notice that it is "straight" on the sides not curved like yours/original

Edit: Pic (Printed with low quality settings just to try and speed)

DAMN 3D printers are cool. How do they come up if you sand out the valleys between the extrusions?

The craig - cage is a bunch of tubes on the workshop floor right now, will post progress as I go.

Got the hood pin brackets done last night:

They actually clean up pretty nice. I don't think my 90's self saw this coming as a solution for these grills

Keep up the good work!

A few things...

very robust double stainless coating and the rest of the pic is self explanatory. All the 924's are summer only so this should last a long long time.

...and now the start of something interesting (to me and Gegge for sure anyway). I will start a separate thread once I have more concrete results and pics.

The control arms were just a quicky. There has been an issue with the front end of the '82 and rather than going crazy its just supposed to be a driver. I tend to turn things into big projects and it runs in the fam. My nephew and I have been going through the entire front end and the brakes. All kinds of strange behavior but the car was purchased this way and we are just undoing or improving what we can while keeping it on the road for my father.

The valves are Ferrea. 36mm exhaust and 46mm intake. Obviously this is faked but possible by an offset guide in the stock head or a new billet head. Stems are just under 6mm which makes it possible. No grooves or anything in the valves. Need to work this out and go from there. I"ll cut the keeper grooves and set the height later. Just thought I'd post that I have been playing around Looked too cool to me not to. Technically this would be wicked on a NA too

I was going to bring this all up in a specific thread but for what ever reason Porsche is strange with valve sizing in the 924 and 44. The size ratio doesn't go along with the norm. This combo brings it there or at least close to what is normal in the big power world. I used to be on the side of a small valve to keep it unshrouded world but it really isn't so bad. Only a small section of the valve is by the cylinder and I plan on bias-ing the port to one side sending the intake charge away from the cylinder wall...hopefully anyway. So much of the larger valve curtain is exposed to the whole open cylinder

I want to start here before anything 16V related. Successful at crossing one bridge before trying to do too much on a bigger bridge

I am working on getting the head into CAD and I will let everyone know what happens. If I try on a stock head, it won't be this one pictured. Its way too nice. I'll use my '80 which had dropped/smashed valves before me. I don't feel bad digging into this one. Always surprised the 80 ran so well when it ran with all its knicks and dents on the cylinder head flats

I just asked because I thought it was the EMW big valve kit. Good to see the project coming along though brother. Damn I need a garage. . .

Right it isn't the EMW but I do have one of those waiting for me to install in something.

I appreciate the sentiment but now I must live up to it

A clean garage that starts with a shed would be good for me. I need to get rid of yard tools and such

Tried to keep the garnet from the sandblasting gun covering the whole workshop, it worked for the most part. Still got a grain up through the safety mcglarses which proceeded to irritate me all night.

Primed up the engine bay and tested some base coat colour on the front right outside wheel well. It's a bit bright but close enough for the engine bay.

Got into planning mode for the main hoop of the cage, bends went awesome and it fits perfectly into an imaginary car from bullshit town. I'll cut it up and figure out where I went wrong.
