A few years ago I bought a beautiful 77.5 from the original owner. Quite a few nice upgrades, but basically in original condition with only 70k miles. I'm looking to sell it but am appalled at how little they are bringing compared to Hagerty's valuation of 6300 for "good" and 10k for "excellent."
I've been following some on ebay that are in comparable condition to mine and the sellers can't even get 3k. Even if you were looking for a daily driver, you'd be hard pressed to find a nice car that gets good gas mileage, is reliable, and has under 80k original miles.
I would hate to take less than 5k for mine . . . but doesn't seem that the market is there right now, so she'll go in storage for the winter.
Curious as to what others have found in the US selling a very nice 924.

Most of the aficionados of these cars are here on this board! I'm trying to sell my '88 924S track car, ugly duckling as it is, built for track only, very dependable, and noooooo interest. I plan on keeping it and taking it apart and swapping the race bits into my 944 track car. Be patient, don't give it away. _________________ '83 944 Track car.

Track converted cars exist for abuse, why would anyone pay for an abused car?
If you advertise your good condition 924 well you will get a good price for it.
If you ask too little you will turn away all serious buyers and attract lowballers. Ask what your insurance rated it to and time will come soon when people will turn their attention to the 924. Best is to keep yours in storage and enjoy it when you can. Worst is to sell it cheap just to have it gone. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

I think the cars are underappreciated (I know I am preaching to the choir here) they are good looking, handle well, and are a really practical package for a two seater. A few years ago I was shopping for a car for my son, had about a three grand budget. You have to shop around a bit to find any decent (cosmetically and mechanically) in this price range, yet a nice 924 struggles to reach that price. I think they have the potential to appreciate in the not too distant future, but then again that potential has been around for a while and it hasn't happened yet...
PS, I would like to think mine is a 3k car, but it is probably not as nice as yours, maybe I am being a little optimistic. _________________ 88 924S

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 914 went through a period where there was little interest, but now a really nice one brings some decent money. I'm hoping that happens with the 924.
I had mine listed for 6k then lowered it to 5k pending soon storage. As suggested, I'll hang on to it rather then take a hit. Insurance is only 125 per year.
