We had to bypass the fuel dampener because we're waiting on a new jumper line. We ran the supply line straight to the rail.
I still had the vacuum line from the pressure regulator to the throttle body.
It started throwing gas.
I don't understand the pressure reg/damper and vacuum line. I hope to get the jumper in a few days and revert to OEM but my son is dying to run the thing. Can I just plug the vacuum port on the pressure reg and also on the throttle or not? Just to run the car for a few minutes, not drive it or anything.

Sorry, what's throwing gas? The regulator? Hooking the line straight into the rail should work, no problem.

gas shot out the vacuum line (that's connected to pressure regulator) where it attaches to the throttle assembly, normally it's branched and also connects to the dampener but I had it going straight to the throttle since the dampener was not in the mix. I don't think gas should be there. Maybe the regulator got fried in the fire?

I thought that was what you were saying...

Yes, that regulator is toast...

Regulator, damper.

A bit spendy, but I wouldn't go used. This might have started your fire.

ah, good point!
I got one off ebay already but you're right, probably should have gone new. I will check it out thoroughly.
I might autopsy the bad one, interesting to know what happened, internal melting of something I would think.
We'll probably find more fire damaged easter eggs as we go along.
