Part number on the 81 distributor should be 0 237 022 019 (Bosch part number)

Until we see a picture of the distributor without the cap, we cannot be sure the previous owner did not convert this car to points.

Never seen internals on a dizzy like that..hmmm

Will probably need to source a 3 wire hall sensor dizzy.

The wiring shouldn't be too hard to fix...as long as they left the harness alone.

according to Bosch that distributor is for a 1977 924. the wiring looks to be mostly easy except for the distributor wiring, i have a green, white and black wire coming from distributor and the harness is black/red, brown/white and green.

That setup is not Bosch but rather a conversion kit to get rid of points. I tried some similar kits in the 80's mainly in Fiat X 1/9s but never was satisfied with their performance.

Always good to have photo examples. I've found IMGR to be the most friendly for posting photos here.

I would very cautiously and slowly match your wiring with Ians, confirm it with the wiring diagrams appropriate to your year and preferably test it using an ohms meter (most modern voltmeters have them built in) before you apply voltage to the circuitry. There's a step-by-step test procedure in most Haynes manuals to confirm the ignition system system is wired properly and to specifications. You can test the distributor coil resistance during that test as well from the ICU (not sure if it differs for the hall sensor type, I wouldn't think so as it's testing the pickup coil located below the dizzy).

Ensure that the mount points on the ICU box and chassis are clean as it grounds to that point in the 83+ I believe - it looks good in your photos, but better safe than sorry!

The distributor says Bosch and has a part number on it but either way I got it all wired up matching wiring diagram and still no spark

To post pictures already uploaded to Photobucket, open your album, double click on the picture you want, go to the bottom right of the screen and click to the right of "IMG". You will see "copied". Then come to this board and paste what you copied into your post.

It is a Bosch distributor but is has been converted with an aftermarket kit and most likely will not function with the stock ignition module.

You have at least 3 choices:

Obtain a stock distributor, control module, and wiring

Install a new points elimination kit in the existing distributor

Try to figure out how the existing elimination kit is supposed to be wired and hope the wiring attempts so far have not fried it.
