I have had my 924S for nearly two years and I love it. I drive it to work and just enjoy its light nimbleness.

I am having an issue. I accidently left the E-brake on when I moved the car in reverse. Since then, I have been dealing with a sticky E-brake on the Driver's Side. It is not deployed full strength, but it interveres with the wheel's rotation. As a result, the car pulls away slower. It takes more revs to move the car from a start. Acceleration is down. When I left the throttle from a stable speed the car slows down immediately and unnaturally.

The handling is even affected. It's yaw movements are interfered. The sticky E-brake is worse in hotter weather and better in cooler weather. When the temp is above 80 degrees the E-brake is extremely sticky.

I have had the E-Brake adjusted twice. Each time the car was fine for a day to a half a day, then the E-brake would bind up again. The first time, it did it on its own. The second time, it started binding up when I put the car in reverse.

It is frustrating for sure. Any Ideas?

Was it adjusted at the handle or at the drum?

Firstly I would check the adjustment at the drum. Take the wheel off (after jacking up) rotate the disk until the hole in the 'hub' section is near the top, shine a torch in and move the disk until you can see a toothed wheel (the teeth will be facing you). With a long wide flat screw driver rotate that toothed wheel until the E brake is locked on solid i.e. you cant rotate the disk. Then back the toothed wheel off a couple of turns at a time until you can rotate the disk completely. Then put the E brake on with the lever and check it is working.

If you continue to have problems after adjusting it this way then you will have to strip it down and check inside. You may have broken something inside or simply worn through the E brake shoes. If this is the case then you might need to replace both the shoes and the disk, or as a minimum you will need to get the drum section surface skimmed.

One possibility is delaminated shoe material jammed in there. Another is that the small pin and springs that hold the shoes in place broke when pulled in reverse and a shoe is floating and jams.

+1 on carefully following factory adjustment procedure. Best practice would really be to completely disassemble everything, clean and lube, but that is hard to recommend due to EpicPITA issues.
