Stuck with 14's due to class rules but not stuck with the original Porsche 14's. Anyone know of any light weight (magnesium or forged) 14's out there that would suit our cars?

Any limitation on width? Several Ford's have 4x108 bolt pattern, so I'd start looking there.

{EDIT}
Specifically, FORD ESCORT Mk4 Mk3 RST RS-Turbo Fiesta

{EDIT}
You need 33mm offset.

Maybe call these guys:
http://www.bossman.com.au/

And ask them about the Minilinte MA1455B (14x5.5, ET8 - ET33) or MA1460B (14x6 ).

Audi 80 90 models from 1988-1992 also use a 4x108 bolt pattern, but the wheels I looked at were 45mm offset, not sure how that might work on the early 4-lug setup...12mm difference...would require a spacer.

Do you guys have Peugeot in Australia? They also have 4*108 wheels. PSA have some super lightweight wheels, looks like steel wheels but are made from aluminum. Not sure if they also are in 14, maybe only 15 inch.

Minilites were my first thought, unfortunately they no longer make magnesium wheels, only cast aluminium which are heavy as...
Dan, do you have any clue as to the weight of the Audi and escort wheels?, I can't find anything online.
Cedric unfortunately yes we have been inflicted with pugs, but my research shows there wheels are heavy

Thanks
Daniel

I think the psa alu 'steelies' are 4.7kg so pretty lightweight. But seems to only exist in 15'' though..

OK, I've been researching this kind of opportunity for a while now (here in Oz). I'm looking for 15" or 16".

A standard 924 NA "Tarantula" wheel is 14x6" with an ET of 20 (this is often misquoted as an ET of 33, but I believe that's the ET of the 14x5" steel wheels that appeared on the earliest models).

One options that have the same 4x108 bolt pattern are Early Ford Cortina and Escort, and even some more recent models. However, offsets may not work for you (especially on the FWD Ford wheels).

Peugeot 4 stud wheels are 4x108, and some have a useable offset. I'd be looking in that direction (but I doubt you are really gonna save much weight).

http://www.peugeotperformance.net/tuning/handling/peugeotwheels/peugeotwheels.html

The last problem you will have is that Pug and Ford use M12 wheel studs vs the M14 that the 924 requires.

As a result, you'll have to get the wheels re-drilled to accomodate M14 bolts. Once that's done, you will probably be best to get new wheel bolts (shanks) as the original Porsche ones have a conical head/interface. In redrilling your new wheels, they'll probably need a standard angled head (as the drill will have an angled tip - not conical).

mk1/2 escorts have 4x108 as well. They're so old and very often used in rally that there must be some lightweight wheels for them. No idea about offset though but machining shops/spacers (if they're allowed) exist:)

The Citroën wheels i bought fit right on, no drilling, steelies used for track. For convenience it would be nice with center rings to get diameter correct, but works without. Should be the same wheels as Peugeot?

Hi Everyone
At this stage I am looking at getting a set of BBS wheels that were OEM fitment to special edition early MX5's (miata's) with a adaptor/spacer that converts the stud pattern. The BBS's range from 4.4-4.7kg's according to web sources and sell for about $1000-$1200 US

UK 924 championship racers are mostly using Compomotive 5 spoke alloys
