I'm in the process of replacing the bushings on the 924S' control arms, (very difficult to remove!), and am wondering if there might be an easier way to remove the bushings as well as install them? Also, is the rear bushing and clip, (477 407 181 A and 477 407 169), supposed to allow the control arm spindle to spin/rotate freely or should the spindle be captive? If it is supposed to be captive how is one to determine the orientation of the bushing when installing? Please note I am referring to the pressed steel type control arm. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I bought new arms for £20 and it was much easier to swap the whole lot

The rear bushing is fixed, and I'm not sure about determining the orientation. When I did mine I swapped in some control arms that already had good rear bushings.

The front bushings aren't hard to press in and out with a large vise and a deep socket of the right size. Just have to find the perfect angle.
