|
|
Snow-bound in western NY - saw this video of 918 on ice - seems to want to wag it's tail a lot. Doesn't know what to do with its 600 hp.

Drove my 924 NA on icy roads here and think it might do well if it got ahead of the fish-tailing 918. It's directionally stable and hard to break loose the rear end without sliding the entire car. Of course a fearless (insane) driver would help. Any comments or observations? |

| Um no. Not a chance in a 924. However, I think I would spank it easily in my V8 4WD Toyota 4Runner. |

On 6 mm studs it must have a grip just like on just gravel road. _________________ WBR, Shurick

Speed on ice is mostly a function of driver skill, tyre choice and of course weight on the driven wheels/number of driven wheels.. You could easily blow the doors of that 918 with any car as long as you got these... _________________ 1980 924 Turbo

Definitely not. Not with 2WD, or for most of us, 1WD (open diff).
I have a LOT of experience with the 924 and other, far more powerful RWD sportscars in the snow/ice. Without drive up front as well, it's just a lot of slideways grinnin'. Fun, but slow. _________________ Vaughan Scott
