Would it work to connect a Vdo vacuum/boost gauge with a t fitting to the control line to the ditc unit.

If that control line is manifold vacuum, yes.

You can if you have the small gauge. I'm not sure that that line is big enough for the larger 935 style gauge. The DITC control may also have a delayed reaction from the extra line added that it must fill before full pressure reaches it. The dealer installed boost gauge kits tied in to the manifold or upper pressure duct with its own dedicated line.

Thanks for that input. I got a small gauge to go in place of the inoperative clock and thought that putting a T in the cabin next to the ditc would be low impact. I did not want to try to machine another access point on the intake path. Just wanted to see boost in action!

You can get a longer bolt & put 2 eyelets on it, one for DITC & one for the gauge. No machining needed.

You'll need 3 crush washers too.

Absolutely zero wrong with doing it that way.

Digital Ignition Timing Control. Its used on 1981-on 931.
The control unit controls the ignition timing & has the ability to change timing based on boost pressure. There is a pressure switch in the control unit that is fed intake vacuum/pressure via a hose from the intake.

Fwood would like to tap into this line for a boost gauge.

Oh, makes sense. I have an 80 and am doing the same, it's just I put a T in one of the lines that is before the venturi tube. The big elbow connected Directly to the manifold on the top (the only one) leads right to the one I T'd into so I think it should work.

Any line that is connected to the intake & is large enough to supply the gauge will work. The small vdo gauges don't need a large supply line. You will not get a vacuum signal if its before the throttle body though.

The reason I cautioned about tapping into the DITC line is because the line supplies a pressure switch in the DITC that determines the timing advance/retard based on boost pressure. A bleed off from that line may affect the reaction time of the DITC.
Your car does not have this line or DITC.
