I know that many people have done this using different adhesives. Some did not hold for long. I don't know about all of them. But I am doing mine and am using the adhesive that is used for windshields that contribute to the strength of the roof structure. (like the 924/944) You should not use the 3M fast window weld on these.
This is not the 3M fast urethane windshield adhesive that you can get at most auto parts stores. I bought this on E-bay. There are 2 parts. The first is 3M 08682 primer. If you get this on your hands it doesn't come off. You use this on the back side of the glass and on the frame. The adhesive is 3M 08693. It comes in a standard caulking tube but it is very thick and difficult to squeeze out of the tube. You put a bead of this around the perimeter of the frame and then set the glass on. Press it into the frame to get good contact all around. Then fill in the gaps between the glass and frame. This stuff makes the 3M fast window weld stuff seem like weather strip adhesive. It doesn't come off. You should clean off any that you get on the glass while setting it before it dries.
I should also say that i am going to put the frame on the car first so the assemble fits after gluing. The frame is so flexable that it could easily not fit after gluing otherwise. _________________ 84 944--924 Carrera GTS clone w/520HP Chevy 302 V8--RUNNING!
