Living in FL I've always bought summer tires for my cars, vr6 jetta and 09 turbo jetta, Kumohs, Hankooks, etc.
Now trying to find summer tires for '87 924s and only summer tire I can find in 205 65 15 is a Pirelli P7....looks good to me but does anyone have any other suggestions. car has 205 65 15s now and I like the size....are there advantages to using the 195 65 15 aside from having more brands available to choose from?

Pick up some 7 inch phone dials from a late 944 and you can run 225/50...night and day.

Ended up putting on FALKEN OHTSU FP7000 205/65R15s. They are an all season performance tire and only $60 a piece, and I didn't want to spend a whole lot cause I just had to have the clutch master and slave cylinders replaced...
The old tires were causing a severe vibration above 40 mph, mechanic looked at the front end which checked out ok. Ended up being the tires, they looked ok and had plenty of tread but one was really out of round and causing the wobble. Car rides great now, no wobble or pull at all!

Just acquired my first Porsche since selling my 914/4 in 1977. A 1987 924S.
My first post and question here. It's wearing the original size 195/65/15 which need replacing. Should I stick with this size or go with 205/65/15 which I've seen mentioned elsewhere as a better alternative. Pros? Cons?
Thanks!

I went with 205/65R15s on my '87 924S and have been very happy with them. No issues what so ever and only $60 a piece for FALKEN OHTSU FP7000s.

Since then I bought an '07 Cayman, but I gave the 924S to my sons so I still get to drive it now and then!

Thanks again!

Decided to go with 205/60/15, which are 1.18% smaller than 195/65/15, and at 70 mph on speedo, actual speed will be 69.17 mph

The 205/65/15 are 2.05% larger, and 70 speedo would be 71.44 actual.
