Hi!

I thought I'd share some information about my project with you.

A year ago, I started a race car project... For that purpose I bought a very cheap 924 ( for about 800 Euro ) It stood for 10 years not driven, kept outside, the paintwork was ( and still is ) terrible, interior could only be thrown away, the engine took huge amounts of oil...

A couple days ago, I finished the interior and engine works, and now it looks like that:

It now has 330lbs spring with GAZ shock on the front, and the 500lbs GAZ Shocks Coil-Over on the rear. 5 lug suspension from an early 944. Full roll cage.

The engine is running on EMU, Polish alternative for MegaSquirt.
Right now I'm struggling with tuning the engine ( the car is currently quicker than a standard 924, so I think I'm on a right path ) and since it is my first attempt doing a EFI conversion, I think I may need some help from more experienced colleagues...

Welcome! Looks great, particularly the roll cage fitment, especially through the engine bay.

Such a nice clean engine bay is usually carburetted, thumbs up for going EFI, looks very good.

Maybe there would be a benefit if you made some kind of plenum with a hose away from the engine, to draw more cold air, instead of the individual filters.

Anyway, a very good job on that car

Thanks.

I thought about building a plenum, but for now it will stay this way, I want to install a turbo badge panel, so there will be a bit more ventilation.

Yesterday I have adjusted the ITB's to have same amount of vacuum on each cylinder, which resulted in getting a very smooth idle and acceleration while not on WOT.

For now the most important thing is the ignition table...
I run the engine on Alpha-N algorithm with MAP based ignition.
I'll post my ignition table later today, I wonder what will experts say

Very, very nice.

Can we have a closeup pic showing what you did with the center console?

Nice and clean job!
Personally I don't think that MAP as a load factor is good enough for NA ITB ignition map. You can see atmospheric pressure in hi-load modes all the time.
I'd prefer TPS as an engine load.

Thanks again.

I will switch to pure alpha-n, when I finally get a 'longer' camshaft.
For now I have very fine readings from MAP.

A bit of the history, by request:

When bought... The interior was fully 'customized' by the previous owner. Destroyed would probably be a better word though...

But, the exterior luckily looked still like a 924.

Soon, we found out how the car looked years ago, such a shame to destroy the black-white pasha interior...

3 days after purchasing, the interior was stripped and cleaned:

After that, we started to work on the engine... The head was refurbished, all seals went new, but the bottom was untouched ( which later appeared to be a mistake ). We were in hurry to finish the car before the biggest gathering of Transaxles in Poland, also a TrackDay...

Then, the 5-lug suspension went in ( did some painting of the chassis to, because the amount of putty on the sides was huge and it finally fell of creating quite nasty holes... )

Riddiculously high the car was back then... But not for long!

The GAZ setup for the rear axle arrived!
The front setup arrived about a week before the TrackDay, but were worth waiting for. Front suspension setup was built by our master-magician, mechanic from Warsaw.

It started to look bad-ass...

With the hard suspension setup, standard seats were no longer an option, so i borrowed a nicer one from my friend...

Then, just a day before the party began, I got the Michelin slicks...
And the car did great (That's the co-owner and co-creator by the wheel) :

We had some technical issues ( also called 'drivers impotence' ), which prevented us from racing for the podium, but still, the car was great...

And that ended the 2013 season... 2014 season works... soon

The ITB's are GSX-R 600 ( I think K2 or K3 model - the later ones have different design and they cannot be separated individually )

Morghen, you are welcome. It seems that this year there will be no official season-end meeting in Czestochowa, but I'm forcing an idea of a season-end Track Day in Koszalin on 12-14.09.

The door cards are made of 2mm HIPS.

Right now I'm trying to set up a plan for head modifications. Bigger Valves, longer camshaft, solid lifters... Probably I'll have to shave the block off to rise the CR. Right now I'm waiting for a reply from CatCams.

After the head is finished I plan to dyno it.

Lately I drove a friend-of-mines 944T running on 1bar boost... I think finally I will go turbo way too, but first I'll try to put maximum from the 'ole N/A.
