After more than 6 years of not having windshield cleaning(intercooler pipes go where the bottle used to be), today i finally completed the conversion to a smaller bottle that fits next to the battery.
Wires needed lengthening so i made a black jacket protected pair of wires that shoe into the factory wiring. I routed the wires seamlessly so nothing is visible.
I still have to change the gasket on the bottle motor as its leaking a bit since it wasnt used for a long while, the nozzles were filled with calcar so i had to needle clean them and then blow compressed air trough them to make them work properly.
I also applied some thermal protection on the strut tower and on the rail where the exhaust manifold and turbo are.
Will take it for a drive in about half an hour. _________________ Supercharger and EFI kits

reinstalled the freshly painted balck bumper and roof on the yellow porsche.
I loved the look so much we just went in and painted the lower portion of the front valance black also.
We just can't wait to start refreshing the yellow paint as it is badly faded. _________________ 1979 924 NA |

After a year of trying to source a new air box, I just decided to try and fix the one I had. The box was good, but the mounting tabs were broken, so I made some from stainless steel and speed nuts. I then pop-riveted them on.
They aren't the prettiest things, but they look ok. The repair isn't that noticeable once the box is installed, and is much stronger than it was.

Fixed the left headlight bezel. and got the heater fan working! the car was last tabbed in 1997. after I got it running, none of the electric motors would work. They all work now however |

Had a few beers, listened to some music, and looked at the 2.5L engine project. Starting to take it apart, bearings look good, but will replace them. Just mentally anguishing over the amount of seals, o-rings, gaskets, and beer this engine is going to need~!
This is a shot of the beat-up '88 when I bought it two years ago:

Almost have all the wiring done. Need to pull it out and clean the garage this weekend... do some painting, picked up a gal. of clear. Work on the door panels, change out the struts with a set with lowered springs, install hood pins, make a set of rear hatch brackets courtesy of rasta man, make a front splitter, make my ouwn gt buckets and lens, I have a great idea for buckets.
then by tires for the wider rims and get a front end alignment. Oh yeah I need to reshape that gas pedal toooo close to the brake pedal. Major issues.

Bought some smaller chrome silver flake ( standard size) because the jumbo flake is to big plus 2 gallons of clear. The fenders are looking pretty good.
Getting it done. I work alot though its summer its been cloudy here all week.
Girlfriend hates it when I spray in the garage lucky for me she has rehearsal for her part in a community play of fiddler on the roof most of the week till 10 at night.

finally finished with the exteriour - put original sideskirts and mudflaps where they belong. front 195/60 wheels look too small, compared to the rear 225/60 ones, so will go for 215/60 front _________________ Porsche 931 1980 widebody CS / no, stock again

Installed rear bumper for the final time (polished rear tail light lens with headlight lens polish), painted hood, worked on door panels. Next weekend Im thinking about guying new rear tires. Coming up ....
finish painting and door panels, install afm guage, make gt headlight covers and buckets, make a front splitter, install turn signal mechanism, put it all together get a front end alignment along with new front tires. & pass deq.

Wow - I haven't posted in years ...
BUT, I should be FINALLY getting one of my 924s on the road by the end of the month. I'll post some pics but I hope to continue the stage rally build I have planned for it - but for now, I'm just pretty damn excited to be in a situation to have the car back and on the road (one step at a time). _________________ 924.org (no time to complete)

Well done. Can't wait to see pics of the car on the road.
For me this weekend means compression and leak down tests. Then going through the reasons I am not getting a good spark to all cylinders when under load. _________________ Cheers;
