Why not get one from Autozone or O'Reilly with lifetime warranty?

I recommend that you do get one with lifetime warranty because these cylinders rust really fast.

Cheaper in the long run.

The instructions in the kit should be good enough.

Replace the seals. Make sure you understand how it fits together / comes apart (including the bolt that provides a travel stop for the intermediate piston).

Bench bleed thoroughly.

For what it's worth, I tried rebuilding my master cylinder and it just didn't work.

I swear that I did everything per instructions, but recall that there are some unique seals involved. I ended up buying one for around $80.

Considering the work to remove the MC, prime it, and bleed the brakes, (and the nasty nature of brake fluid), I'd recommend buying a new MC - if there is a problem, then you can vent at someone other than yourself.

And you probably never have to do it again over the life of the car.

I finally ordered the replacement seals today. If anyone can find a video on the internet I would love to see it. If no one can find one by the time it gets here, I'll make one . I've tried searching you tube so far, no results. But maybe I am not entering the right info.

Part #: Beck Arnley 071-7673

Success!

For the most part, it was pretty straight forward. I actually found the details of rebuilding the master cylinder in the Hayes manual, lol. However, the tricky parts that it didn't cover is something that people might wanna know about. The repair kit was actually updated and there is this plastic washer that was eliminated from the parts and for good reason. The plunger didn't come out right away and needless to say it had to be pried out. I had to take a pair of vice grips on the shaft and pry between that and the housing to get the plunger out. After that it was pretty strait forward. Just lay your pieces out as you remove them and assemble in reverse order.

Heads up,.. you do not need to remove the reservoir or the pressure sensors for this. There is a pin that screws in between the reservoir inlets, but there is plenty of room to get it out.

No more brake fade, yay!

Pic for those who wanna see the fun
