We have engine all together and in car .
Tried to get oil pressure on the starter but would not extinguish oil warning light. I took the sender out and cranked , no oil came out hole.

Started engine for 3 seconds , still no oil out hole. Looks like main bearings are getting oil as assembly paste in oil. Then removed turbo oil feed line from filter housing , attached oil gauge and got over 5 bar. Then shimmed oil pressure relief valve and got 9 bar but still no oil to head !!

Have checked assembly pics , head gasket on correctly.
Only thing I can think now is maybe the raceware studs used are not allowing the oil into the head ?
Any ideas before I pull the engine back out and remove head ?

thx in advance !

To confirm the confirmation, did you remove the oil filler cap and see if oil was squirting onto the cam lobes?

I wonder if a stuck relief valve (in filter console) would cause this symptom.

I just had this same problem, but my head gasket was in up side down. I was also getting coolant in the oil.

I don't think you would be getting oil pressure at the oil filter console if the OPRV was malfunctioning, but I could be wrong on that. He also indicated they shimmed it, and the pressure shot up to 9 bar.

There has to be something blocking the oil galleries to the head. Did you have the head and the block hot-tanked and flushed before the rebuild?

I was actually wondering about the pressure relief valve in the console.

Yeah, sorry, I was replying to morghen's post.

I checked through FSM but could not find a diagram on how the lubrication system works. I thought there was one floating around.

Might sound stupid but:
-do you have enough oil in it?
-are you loosing the oil somewhere?

yes there is enough oil & not losing any.

All oil ways cleaned out prior to build.
Looks we'll have to strip it down again to find what the issue is......

How much did you shim the relief valve?
