Apparently, the Bathurst 12-hour is being live streamed this year!

So what?

Well, Godzilla is back at The Mountain! For the first time since 1992, when Jim Richards called the fans, "...a pack of a***holes," after trouncing the field in the 1,000km race (the crowd were booing the winners because they weren't Ford or Holden (GM) cars ).

Eric Bana, of 'Love the Beast' fame, is driving a Lamborghini Gallardo!

And one of my favourite V8 Supercar drivers, Lowndsey, is driving a Faz Italia (with John Bowe)!

There are a whole bunch of Audi R8s, Faz Italias, Lambo Gallardos... even an SLS or two.

Not to mention more 911s than you can poke a stick at.

It's even on at a reasonable hour, about midday through to midnight Saturday, PST!

Watch it!

There was a little bit more to it than that, although the hatred shown to non domestic cars at the point was high. Richards had planted the car in the gravel allowing a home grown Holden commodore to pass him however the red flags were released (torrential rain). The rules stated that in this case the results of the race would be brought back one atleast one lap to a time when all competitors crossed the start finish line, hence Jim Richards 'robbed' the commodore of a victory.

Fine. I guess if we're in full disclosure mode, I should mention that the GT-R has raced at The Mountain since 1992. But as I understand it this is the first time back as a factory-backed team.

Coverage has started!

Sorry Khal, as much as Lowndsey is awesome, I gotta give it to the Krazy Kiwi today:

I think if Porsche had continued with the 928,944,924 they'd have done a bit better at Bathurst today. Instead it seemed like nearly every 911 had a right rear failure at one point or another, such is the life of a car with such weird weight balance issues on a track with so much loading on the right side tires
