Ive spent way too much time finishing this project but its finally done. Anyone else have a simulator?
Its made of 1.5" schedule 40 ABS. I painted all the connectors satin black then wrapped everything else in carbon fiber vinyl. I bought a Logitech G27 steering wheel and used a seat from a 924. It turned out pretty good and I think I will use it whenever I play any video games.

| You probably could have paid for at least one day at a real track for the money your spent here. |

Sweet! You should sell plans online for that!
This is a pic of a friend of mine's simulator cart. You can't tell in the pic, but the whole shebang is a rolling cart, and is setup to hold the PC/tower, the monitor, and everything, so it can be moved anywhere in his shop!

brian19600 - I thought about integrating a dash from a 924, maybe in the future
nickthompson - definitely the price of a track day however there arent any track days for 7 months of the year. But dont worry i get out when I can
Dan - someone has actually already done that. I copied some parts of his design but didnt like how far away the steering wheel was so I changed the design to fit me better. The seat is on sliders so anyone can adjust the seat to play. I may go to a triple screen setup if I ever go to iracing. Thats why i added a couple of t's and left the pipe under the steering wheel open for future expansions.
snakoil - I just tell her no back seat driving _________________ '80 924 M471,Wideband O2, Full coilover susp,23/19 sways,Bilstiens,KLA Strut Brace,Roll Bar,Test Pipe,BBS RS, Willwood BBK

LOL. pwned
FYI, in that first track picture shot from turn 8, your front wheels are pointing the wrong way for the corner, try it like this, it's actually faster:

chrenan - false. My wheels are the only thing pointed in the right direction in that corner. Yes that is turn 8 and I'm slideways due to that nissan 300zx turbo puking coolant all over track (or releasing the clutch at the apex, I cant remember). And your car should be faster with all of its new age wizardry like power steering, ABS and torque vectoring. _________________ '80 924 M471,Wideband O2, Full coilover susp,23/19 sways,Bilstiens,KLA Strut Brace,Roll Bar,Test Pipe,BBS RS, Willwood BBK

Actually,it looks like it could be a double use thing. Put a team of ten huskys on it and your away if the weather gets bad next year......or bring it over if you holiday in the uk this summer...... _________________ I KNEW white wall tyres were invented by Americans .....just not at Boeing.... to be fitted on the 737..... |
